In Mexico: Merida, on the Yucatán Peninsula

Mexico has long been on our destination list.

This year, we made it to Merida, on the Yucatán Peninsula. We saw many wonderful things and went to fabulous places – not the least of which was this pyramid at Uxmal. A World Heritage Site, Uxmal is one of the most important archaeological sites of the Mayan culture.

If you get there early enough in the morning, the crowds are light and you can catch the sun just coming over the pyramid. I played two restaurant gigs while in Merida.
